Investigation Underway After Elderly Woman Injured In Robertson County Dog Attack

189

Multiple agencies in Robertson County responded to a serious dog attack on State Line Road that left an elderly woman injured and prompted an ongoing public safety response.

According to Robertson County Animal Control, officers were called by Robertson County 911 to assist the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office with a bite investigation involving three dogs.

Officials say the dogs severely attacked an elderly woman, who was treated at the scene and transported by Robertson County Emergency Medical Services for medical care.

Animal control officers and deputies spent several hours working to capture the animals, with authorities later securing all three dogs. State quarantine protocols are now being followed, and rabies testing is underway for deceased animals involved in the incident.

Investigators say the dogs did not have a known history of rabies vaccinations and had reportedly been running at large in the area for several weeks, with some residents reporting prior aggressive encounters that had not been officially reported.

Out of caution, officials are urging anyone in the area of the 6000 block of State Line Road who may have had contact with the dogs — including bites, attacks, or other physical interaction — to consult their personal physician or contact the Robertson County Health Department.
