Your families have their costumes and you’re ready to trick-or-treat this Halloween. The City of Springfield shared these things you need to know about trick-or-treating this year:

  • The City of Springfield does not designate a time or rules for traditional Halloween trick or treating, except that the City’s regular curfew ordinance for minors remains in effect.
  • The curfew prohibits minors under the age of 18 to be on the streets or in public places between midnight and 5:00 a.m. the following day. The provision does not apply to a minor accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor, or where the minor is on an emergency errand or legitimate business.
  • The Springfield Police Department will increase patrols on Oct. 31 (Halloween) as a safety precaution.
  • The City of Springfield encourages citizens to follow CDC guidelines and practice social distancing.
