Here she comes again – the country icon, Dolly Parton, who seems to be everywhere this year, from performing at the University of Tennessee game to the Dallas Cowboys halftime show, has plans for Nashville.
Now, Dolly is eyeing downtown Nashville as her next project, reports Nashville Business Journal.
The journal shared Parton has purchased a downtown office building in Nashville that she plans to convert into a hotel. “Since the pandemic, commercial real estate is becoming an opportunity. I strongly believe in the future of Nashville and feel this is a great investment,” Parton said in an emailed statement to the Nashville Business Journal.
Located at 211 Commerce, the building now houses the burger joint- Black Tap. Pete Owens of The Dollywood Co confirmed the purchase of the building.
“The Dollywood Company, a joint venture between Herschend Enterprises and entertainment icon, Dolly Parton, confirms its acquisition of 211 Commerce Street, Nashville, TN. Terms of the sale will not be disclosed and plans for the future of 211 Commerce will be shared as they materialize,” Owens stated to the Business Journal.
Dolly would join other country artists who have opened establishments in the downtown area – Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Alan Jackson, and more.
