The City of Springfield, in partnership with the Robertson County History Museum, is excited to announce the unveiling of story walk panels—an engaging, interactive way for residents and visitors to explore the county’s history while enjoying the beauty of the Springfield Greenway.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Thursday, February 27 at 1 p.m. on the Greenway, where city officials, museum representatives, and community members will gather to celebrate this new addition. Attendees should park at J. Travis Price Park and follow the Greenway across Wilks Road to reach the ribbon-cutting location.
“The story walk panels began as a vision to bring our county’s rich history beyond the museum’s walls and into the heart of the community,” said Robertson County History Museum Director Janet Palmore. “By blending history with outdoor activity, we’re creating a space where people can learn about Robertson County’s past while enjoying the present.”
Each panel along the Greenway highlights key moments, influential figures, and fascinating stories that have shaped Robertson County. The project is designed for walkers, runners, and families to enjoy at their own pace, making history accessible to everyone.
Following the ribbon-cutting, guests will have the opportunity to walk the path and explore the panels for themselves. The event is free and open to the public.
