Burn Ban for Robertson County Lifted

As of February 18, the Burn Ban for Robertson County has been lifted. However, the wind speeds were 11.5 mph on February 18, which is over the permitted wind speed of 10 mph. Burning is not advised.

Robertson County residents are required to obtain a burn permit through the State Forestry Division.

City of Springfield residents are required to obtain a burn permit through Springfield Fire Department, located at Station One, 203 Central Avenue, during normal business hours, Monday- Friday, 7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Burning without a permit is a class C misdemeanor and punishable by up to 30 days in jail and/or a fine. Wildfires caused by arson are a class C felony punishable by three to 15 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
