Units with the Springfield Police and Springfield Fire departments responded to an incident involving a pedestrian and a train just after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23rd.
Upon arrival, officers and firefighters, along with Robertson County EMS, found a deceased male on the railroad tracks 1/3-mile southeast of the West Hillcrest Drive at Industrial Drive railroad crossing.
Officials have identified the deceased male struck by the train as 48-year-old Steven G. Traughber. The investigation is ongoing.
