Sally Murphey Bell, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at Skyline Medical Center, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Family and friends are invited to Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 4558 TN-161, Springfield, TN, from 10:00-1:00 on August 2, 2025, to reminisce and honor the life of Sally. The service will follow at 1:00 with Dr. Jason Wilkerson and Bro. Nathan Barnes officiating.
Mrs. Bell was born on April 6, 1932, in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late Jack and Louise Murphey. She was a resident of Springfield and a 1950 graduate of Springfield High School. Sally married Phil Bell in 1950, in Springfield, Tennessee. She spent her life selflessly serving the needs of others. In this way, she glorified and honored the Kingdom of God and her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
One of her favorite bible verses was, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24) And that, is how she lived each day.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Bell, Jr., her daughter, Patti Bell, grandson Brock Buckwalter, and brother, Tommy Murphey. She is survived by her daughter, Brooks (Jeff) Buckwalter, and son, Grant (Jennifer) Bell; and six grandchildren; Meghan, Adam, and Brenna Buckwalter; and Jackson, Chandler, and Raegan Bell; and a great grandson, David Buckwalter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcome to Mt. Denson Church. Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
