Cheryl Ann Dixon Claborn, 75, of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Friday, December 31, 2021, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Milldale Chapel with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Cross Plains Cemetery with Maurice Bassett, Robert Slusher, Tanner Bassett, David Slusher, Jim Tullis, and Ron Karkos serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Milldale Chapel.
Cheryl was born February 12, 1946, in Cleveland, OH to the late Austin P. and Ruth Anne Henderson Dixon. She grew up in Orlinda and was a graduate of East Robertson High School Class of 1964. Cheryl was married to her high school sweetheart, Robert Claborn, for 52 years. They moved around for his job and upon retirement, settled into Cross Plains. She was a member of Milldale Presbyterian Church. Cheryl loved going to the Byrum Porter Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and going to the Thursday night dances.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Bartley Claborn.
Cheryl leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Richard Guittar of New Albany, IN, her grandsons: Maurice Lee Bassett and wife Lori, and Robert Slusher and wife Staci, her sister: Linda Orr of Kingston Springs, and by her six great-grandchildren: Tanner, Kylee, Lawson, Jaxon, Allison, and Zachary.
