Carl Randolph Johnson, Sr., age 84, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday, November 19th, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Daniel Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery with Kyler Johnson, Heath Johnson, Chase Downing, Joey Cook, Chris Baker, and Nolan Toothman serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 10am until time of the service at 2 pm Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson was born March 3, 1941, in Nashville, to the late Joseph Hershel Johnson, and the late Mildred Lorene Hargis Johnson. He was a General Contractor, an avid racing fan, and was a Drag Racer. Mr. Johnson loved the beach, the ocean, boating on the lake, and fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his son, Carl Randolph Johnson, Jr.; and brothers, James Timothy Johnson, and Virgil Paul Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nancy Johnson; daughters, Diane Baker, Sherri Johnson, and Kimberly Patterson; 9 grandchildren, Kristi, Joey, Cara, Chase, Heath, Kyler, Chris, Jeremy and Chelsie; 11 great grandchildren, Ellie, Colby, Blake, Archie, Peyton, Connor, Case, Kallie, Addison, Avett and Avonlea; and a daughter-in-law, Dawn Johnson.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of these arrangements.
