Bobby Ray Wix, age 84 of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Bobby was born July 7, 1940 in Springfield to the late Horace and Fannie Haley Wix.

He was a member of Greenwood Freewill Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter and farmer. He enjoyed sports, especially University of Tennessee football and basketball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching westerns on TV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Diane Spivey Wix; brother, Rudolph Wix; and sisters, Carolyn Hart and Linda Keefer.

Surviving him are his sons and daughters-in-law, Tim Wix of Dover, Jeff and Juanita Wix of Cross Plains, and Bobby and Nikki Wix II of Cross Plains; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jeff Jernigan of Springfield; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Plains Cemetery with Ryan Jernigan, Justin Jernigan, Brandsford Wix, Lee True, Adam True, Dillon Wix, Marshall Wix, Matthew Wix, Bobby Wix III, Caleb Geary, and Brendan Geary serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tamilyn Wix Dunaway and Hanah Wix. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of service.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
